Enjoy International Cuisine in Downtown LA

Enjoy International Cuisine in Downtown LA

You may not be able to travel around the world right now, but you can certainly enjoy a culinary journey. Just a few minutes away from your City Lights on Fig luxury apartment home, you can pick up a meal from several international restaurants in Downtown Los Angeles. Enjoy it however you want: while sitting on your deck, in the comfort of your living room, or at your favorite outdoor space.

There isn't a huge menu at Barcito, but what they serve is superb. They have both hot and cold sandwiches for $10 each. If you're feeling adventurous, try the Banh Mi which has pork shoulder, chicken liver pate, pickled radish curtido, carrot, garlic aioli, and cilantro. You definitely can't go wrong with the fried chicken sandwich on a brioche bun. You can add a side of their crispy fries or, if you prefer something healthier, choose the perfectly-seasoned broccoli. Of course, Barcito also makes delicious empanadas. Buy a single for $4 or a dozen for $35. Make sure you save room for churros for dessert.

Barcito is located at 403 W. 12th Street. They are open daily from noon until 8 pm for carryout or delivery.

Although it's only been around since 2019, Beni Yaki has already become a local favorite. Many customers rave that this food truck is better than Benihana. That’s a huge compliment! Choose shrimp, chicken, steak, or veggies with steamed or fried rice. Udon noodles are also on the menu. The Beni Burritos are made by wrapping meat, rice, and veggies in a spinach tortilla.

Beni Yaki has two trucks in LA, with the closest being at 1341 S. Hill Street. It's open daily from 1-10 pm with delivery available through GrubHub, DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Postmates. Each order is sealed and untouched from their truck to your door.

Genwa is a place you go for amazing food, but also for the experience. Not only has it been voted one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles several times, Genwa was mentioned by Thrillest as one of the top 21 Korean restaurants in the entire country in 2018.

If you've never tried Korean food, the beef, Bulgogi, is always a winning choice. The menu also has a variety of soups, seafood dishes, Korean dumplings, and vegetarian options. If you want to splurge, order the Wagyu beef ribeye.

Genwa has three locations in the area. The closest is at 450 West Olympic Blvd. Suite B & C. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from noon until 10 pm and Sunday from 1-10 pm. Order today for carryout!

This week, take a break from cooking at home and have a delicious meal delivered to your door or get carryout. These are just a few of the fantastic international restaurants in Downtown Los Angeles. You can also support them by purchasing gift cards to use later. If you haven't made City Lights on Fig your home yet, contact us to schedule a tour.
